Higher education eSports programs in the RF

Higher eSports education is available not only in Asia and Europe. Back in 2014, the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism opened eSports specialization within Informatics department. 

Graduates obtain a bachelor’s degree, meaning that they get higher education in Humanities. In the course of training students get additional specializations in traditional kinds of sports, as well as tourism. 

Another officially recognized institution of higher education that offers Bachelor's programme in eSports is Synergy University. This non-state-owned educational institution focuses on training managers of eSports industry. There are intramural and extramural forms of study. 

Furthermore, there are many eSports schools and courses, where experienced players train newcomers. The majority of such institutions can be found in Moscow.

The head of eSports specialization at the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism, Mikhail Novoselov will deliver a presentation on industry education at eSPORTconf Russia 2016 on December 1.
