An agreement to arrange European FIFA 17 tournament was concluded

French professional football league signed a partnership agreement with EA Sports. The partnership goal is to launch the official eSports FIFA 17 championship.

Each football club of Ligue 1 (there are 20 of them in total) will sponsor one eSports player that will participate in FIFA 17 using PlayStation 4, and one eSports player that will use Xbox One. Besides that, there is information that professional football players will also be able to compete.

The first tournament is scheduled for November and December of 2016, the second one is planned for February and March of 2017. Play-offs of FIFA 17 eSports tournament, called Ligue 1, should take place in May of 2017. The winner will play in the European League together with FIFA 17 champions from other countries.
