The State Duma of the Russian Federation discusses the possibility of establishing an e-sports department

Boris Chernyshov, a member of the State Duma Education and Science Committee, has initiated a proposal to create an e-sports department at one of the national universities.

The deputy highlighted that thanks to the current legislation e-sports have the same status as traditional sports and the same rights. He addressed the initiative to the Deputy Prime Minister for Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy, and the Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

Boris Chernyshov noted that e-sports positively influence intelligence, memory, and logic, helping to adapt to psychological stress.

He offered to start the enrollment process for the e-sports department in the current year.
