The wait is over! International e-Sports Federation of Russia has accreditation

Yesterday, the meeting of the committee of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation came to an end with the decision to provide the International e-Sports Federation of Russia with one year’s accreditation. As the result, it has obtained the all-Russian status and the following rights:
- establishing rules for computer sports competitions;
- developing criteria for eSports ranks and categories;
- determining requirements to judges;
- conducting all-Russian and international competitions officially;
- appointing the Russian Federation team etc.
One-year accreditation is related to the fact that the International e-Sports Federation of Russia has fulfilled all requirements of the Ministry of Sport, except for one – having 43 accredited subdivisions in regions. The Federation is going to spend the nearest year actively creating branches in order to obtain the long-term accreditation.
Surely, some people are not exactly mad about the International e-Sports Federation primarily due to the indistinctness of the ‘computer sports’ term. One can hardly conceive of an eSports team of the Russian Federation: who will play there, and what? Nevertheless, if founders of the Federation come down to the point wisely, it will provide country’s eSports with considerable benefits.
