Overwatch World Cup 2017: Russian team progressed to playoff, not quarterfinal

On August 6, Overwatch Russian team defeated the Turkish team, which ensured it a place in the world championship playoff. However, being crushed by the Republic of Korea team, the Russian eSports athletes were dropped out.

Winning the 3rd place at Katowice qualification, the Russians gained $9000. Only 6 quarterfinalists of Overwatch World Cup 2017 are known. Another 2 are to be announced at Santa Monica qualifications scheduled for August 11-13.
