German football club VfB Stuttgart establishes an e-sports division

Signing agreements with Konami Corporation and Sega Holdings as well as the renewal of the contract with Electronic Arts had a predictable impact on the German Bundesliga. Such clubs as Schalke 04 and VfL Wolfsburg launched their own e-sports divisions.
The third club among the pioneers of German professional football clubs that got interested in e-sports was the famous VfB Stuttgart. It signed e-sports players Marcel “Marlut” Lutz and Erhan “Dr. Erhano” Kayman. E-sports athletes will compete in FIFA 17 tournaments.
According to the Dot Esports, the decision was supported by VfB Stuttgart’s sponsors, including Puma SE, Fischer, and Schunk Group.
The Russian e-sport is also facing changes. Earlier, we reported about the possible come-back of the forZe to the professional arena with their CS:GO team. On July 20, the club officially announced its ‘revival’ and presented players.
