The world eSports football tournament can take place in Russia in two years

Vitaly Mutko – the President of Russian Football Union – has come up with a suggestion to hold FIFA World Cup in Russia in two years. The former Minister of Sports hopes that Russian sportsmen will become the best ones at least in eSports football.

The decision about holding the championship in Russia was announced during the session of RFU executive committee after the speech by mayor of Kazan who was also the president of “Rubin”. Ilsur Metishin’s presentation dedicated to the development of eSports in Russia impressed the audience so much that the executive committee decided that it was a very important sphere to develop. So, it was suggested that the world eSports football tournament should take place in Russia.

Lots of leading football clubs support the eSports sphere. In particular, F.C. Copenhagen wants to become professional player of Dota 2 and CS: GO. Today eSports tournaments are very popular, they are broadcast on lots of famous channels and prize fund money are often used for charitable purposes.
