Mail.ru Group purchases ESforce holding
The largest eSports organization in the CIS, ESforce, will soon become part of one of the most influential technology companies in Russia - the Mail.ru Group.
ESforce owns 14 websites, a commenting studio RuHub and an eSports platform Ysoft Arena, as well as Virtus.pro and SK Gaming teams.
The Mail.ru Group stated that the acquisition of the holding will not affect the development policy of ESforce, the organization will retain its independence.
Anton Cherepennikov, head of ESforce, considers the deal a next stage in development of the organization in the eSports world and sees new opportunities for progress in it.
"I have always been passionate about eSports and I am happy that the largest Internet holding in Russia believes in prospects of a business that we created in two years," he added.
The deal is estimated at $100 million. After the purchase, a major investment in ESforce is planned - $20 million. According to predictions, the holding's profits in 2018 will increase by 100%.
