Spanish e-sports league to merge with a large media company
The merger between media company Mediapro and Spanish professional e-sports league (Liga De VideoJuegos Profesional) has been officially announced. However it doesn’t mean that e-sports tournaments will be shown on television, stated the head of Mediapro, Jaume Roures.
According to the official data, the merger aims at promotion of Liga De VideoJuegos Profesional in the global market, and especially in Latin America.
Mediapro owns television channels in different countries of Europe, America and Near East, focusing on Spanish-speaking audience. Apart from generation and distribution of its own information materials, media company is screening films and broadcasting significant sporting events.
Since 2009 Liga De VideoJuegos Profesional has been specializing in the organization of large scale e-sports competitions in Spain. The main disciplines of their tournaments are CS:GO, League of Legends and Call of Duty.
